The refresher programme titled "Towards a new financial system model" featured by Juan Ignacio Sanz, Professor in the Department of Private Law at ESADE, inaugurated the ESADE Alumni Tarragona Club.
The session analysed some examples of financial crises throughout history. It then moved on to take a look at the origin, evolution and international impact of the financial crisis of August 2007, and its impact and concurrence with the economic crisis in Spain during 2008 and 2009. The session concluded with an assessment of the results of the measures adopted and comments on the restructuring of the financial system and the incidence of the main macroeconomic magnitudes and variables on the system.
Juan Ignacio Sanz (MBA 92)
PhD in Law from the University of Barcelona and doctoral candidate in Economics and Business Studies. MBA from ESADE. Law degree from the University of Valladolid. BA in Political Science, UNED. He is Professor in the Department of Private Law at ESADE Law School, where he lectures on Banking Law and International Financial System Law, and co-directs the Masters Programme on International Business Law (DIN).
He has spent most of his career in the area of Legal and Financial Consultancy for various banking groups.
