In a world battling climate change, the depletion of fossil fuels, city pollution and many more challenges, the bicycle has emerged as a powerful tool for change. A David fighting Goliath in cities with more cars than ever.

There is no doubt that the most efficient and sustainable models are the ones that encourage people to walk and use bicycles combined with public transport. But the 2015 Copenhagenize Index of the world’s most cycling-friendly cities ranked Barcelona in eleventh position – a considerable drop from its 3rd position just four years ago.

Far from being an unrealistic demand for an ecological means of transport, this documentary asks out loud how we want our cities to be and the world that future generations will inherit. At present there are more than 1,000 million cars on the roads around the world. Activists and thinkers are joining forces to change this situation and make cities more sustainable. Together with other citizens, they cling to their bikes: a small gesture that will lead to great changes and, above all, a massive urge to carry on pedalling against the current towards a better society.

Joining us in the debate will be Pere Serrasolses, partner of Colectiu biciclot.
