Transparencia, buen gobierno y buenas prácticas de gestión en las ENL
Another complementary lecture by Begońa Román

The responsibility of third-sector entities involves transparency – but not as a response to general mistrust but as a way of letting people know what they are, what they do, and who and what they work with. Changes in society and how the third sector works make it necessary to explain the characteristic and specific causes and ways in which each organisation achieves its goals. ¿Should trusts and their members play an active part in this or simply give their approval?

A foundation’s board of trustees is an essential body which must adopt a stance of forward-looking, proactive responsibility, not merely one that explains the past. The board must, therefore, manage the NGO creatively and make the foundation’s means tally with its causes.

Today’s non-profit-making entities must diversify their sources of funding, and this event will give specific examples of proactive schemes. Some non-profit organisations are currently working on projects based on "friendraising".

This forum is an opportunity to share our thoughts and discuss the role of trusts and boards of trustees in fundraising.

Introduced and chaired by:
Alfred Vernis (Lic&MBA 88), associate professor in ESADE’s Department of General Management and Strategy and academic sponsor in the Alumni Giving-Back project.

Begoña Román, teaches ethics at UB. President of the Catalonia Social Service Ethics Committee. Trustee, Pere Tarrés Foundation.
Josep Oriol Pujol, Managing director, Pere Tarrés Foundation

Are you a former student thinking about taking part in the management of a non-profit organisation? Want to find out about the work and functions of the boards of trustees in non-profit organisations? Are you a member of an NGO overhauling and updating its governing body?

Come along, learn, take part in the discussion with your opinion, questions and answers. And, above all, do some networking and meet people who share your interest in the third sector and its sustainability

After the session we will offer a cocktail.
