The ESADE Alumni People and Organisation Management Club invites you to this talk about today’s digital transformation and how it is reinventing the part played by human resources in companies and is actually the driving force for change in some companies. This reinvention has sprung from several factors, particularly:

- Big Data: Data processing to enable forecasts and make progress
- Connectivity between employees and the outside world
- Speed of learning and retraining
- Employer branding and personal branding using social media
- New management competencies and skills

Enrique Escalante

Enrique Escalante holds an undergraduate degree in Business Administration (Universidad de Málaga) and an MBA (ICADE). He began working as a Financial Analyst at Sanitas and later moved to Price Waterhouse as a Consultant, first in the financial process area and later in Human Resources.  

After the IBM buyout, he worked for IBM Global Consulting Services as Human Resource Manager until the opportunity arose to join IBM S.A.’s Marketing Department. He worked in the latter for two years and was named Director of Market Intelligence for 5 countries.  

He then joined the Corporate Human Resource Department at Grupo Havas Media, holding different positions until being named Director of Human Resources for Spain and Portugal, a position he has held for 2 years.



Marcos Sanz

Marcos Sanz is the Director of Human Capital Consulting of Mercer. He has over 20 years’ experience in the development and supervision of IT and talent management projects, people development, the transformation of the role of HR, change management, user interface design in interactive systems to boost productivity, process design, and a variety of technological projects including eLearning, employee portals, and SAP design and deployment.

Sanz has worked in sectors including financial services, energy, communications and technology, distribution, food, industry, etc. He has also taught human resources management and been the Academic Director of the Executive MBA at the international business school ESP Europe in Madrid. He is a telecom engineer (Polytechnic University of Madrid) with a PhD from the same university (thesis on human-machine interaction and usability) and completed a Management Development Program (IESE Business School).



Antonio Torrado

Antonio Torrado is a physicist (Complutense University of Madrid) with a Master in Automation (University of the Basque Country). He spent the first 7 years of his career in the UK and USA in telecommunications where he focused on microcomputer and microprocessor design. Since 1999 he has worked in business intelligence and advanced analytics, mainly in Hewlett Packard Enterprise in a variety of positions: BI consultant, solutions architect, project manager and in recent years, head of big data and analytics business development and management, mainly in the telecom and healthcare industries and the public sector. He is currently Iberia A&DM Manager at Enterprise Hewlett Packard, which is very active in technological innovation involving big data and advanced analytics in virtually all fields of business.
