Consult sector-based news items

ESADE Alumni members can now receive a daily selection of sector-specific press clippings from Spanish and business news sources.
Enter media monitoring service

For each clipping, you will be able to see the headline and the source. If you want to read a full story, you can print it or download the PDF.

The service delivers clippings Monday to Friday. The Monday instalment also includes news from the weekend. Stories published on public holidays are included with the clippings for the following day.

Subscribers can customise their daily email by choosing to receive stories about their sectors of interest only.

Automotive industry: Corporate and product-related news from the automotive industry. Does not include news about auto racing events.

Business and information technology: News about the information society and electronic commerce (also known as e-commerce, ecommerce or EC): distribution, purchasing, sales, marketing, supplying through computer networks such as the Internet, electronic data interchange (EDI), automatic data collection systems, inter-company data transfer, etc.

China global business: The main companies that work with China. Does not include news about the Olympic Games.

Communications: Relevant news about the media and related companies: television, radio and print media.

Law, justice, courts, legislation and legal practice: News about the legal system in general and about embezzlement, fraud, white-collar crime, European directives, insolvency law, bankruptcy and suspension of payments. Also includes information about the judicial administration (the Ministry of Justice, the Department of Justice, etc.) and the courts. News about trials. News about new bills, regulations, legislation, the text of laws, organic laws, legal reforms (the modification or creation of laws), laws that spark debate in society, etc. Selected news on legal services, law firms, legislation, the judiciary, newly appointed judges, etc.

Public management: Information about the public administration and government agencies.

Entrepreneurs, investors and business owners: Appointments. News about shake-ups within companies: promotions, changes, board of directors revamps, etc. In the media, news of this sort is usually featured in a separate section.

Family businesses: Important news about Spain's largest family businesses.

Energy: News published in the national and business media about the energy sector as a natural resource and its use. Includes all kinds of energy (renewable and otherwise).

Finance and management control: General economics. Preferably economic news, for example about the consumer price index, the budget, interest rates, the unemployment rate, and any interviews or news items involving important figures from the economic or financial world (the Minister of Economy, etc.). Of the various items included in this section, each day we select the most important business news item.

Tourism management: Tourism. Important news about tourism, tourism policies, statistics, growth of tourism demand, tourism campaigns, general activities, new initiatives, laws, etc. Also includes news on travel agencies and tour operators, both outbound (those which make arrangements to send tourists to other countries) and inbound (those which receive tourists in this country), as well as online travel companies. News about major trade fairs in the tourism industry, including EIBTM, FITUR and the International Tourism Show in Catalonia (SITC).

Consumer packaged goods: News about the institutions, companies and main brands in the food, beverage, perfume, cosmetics and pharmaceutical sectors. Shopping centres, supermarket chains, opening hours and the Law on Commercial Establishments.

Culture industries: Theatre, music and literature. News about institutions, events and companies related to the film industry (producers, distributors, movie houses, festivals, etc.). News about the performing arts: theatre, mime, dance, musicals, etc. Special emphasis on premieres, general data on audiences, season programme presentations, subsidy policies, festivals, prizes, etc. News related to the music industry (related institutions, products, etc.). Does not include news on musical performances. General news on the literature industry: Business and institutional news items on new literature, literary prizes, new publishing houses, book fairs, booksellers' associations, etc.

Real estate: News about real estate. Information about the real estate industry: companies, profits, developments, housing, etc.

Marketing: News about advertising, corporate image, sales strategies, markets, etc.

Environment: News about the environment in general: environmental policy, environmental management in companies, noise pollution, oil, recycling, environmental legislation, toxic emissions, Kyoto Protocol, CO2, landfills.

Business and corporate social responsibility: News about corporate social responsibility (CSR): good corporate governance, corporate reputation, Global Reporting Initiative, Global Compact, ASEPAM and sustainability indexes (provided that the news items are related to good corporate governance and policies on corporate social and environmental responsibility).

Operations: News related to logistics and distribution.

Upon request (902 420 020 or esadealumni@esade.edu), we can also create customised sets of press clippings. For example, we can include all articles published during a specified time period that contain a particular word, or string of words, in the body of the text. The articles are delivered by email, in multiple PDF files or XML, with links to each of the selected stories.
