Do you want to be a mentor?
We all face various challenges over the course of our professional careers, with varying degrees of difficulty and success. However, these challenges all tend to have one thing in common: we face them alone. This solitude, while normal, is often too severe. It could probably be alleviated if, in those crucial moments, we could count on the advice, the moral support or at least the opinion of an experienced person from outside our work and social environment.
Career Services has designed a system to offer this sort of help to ESADE students and alumni: the Mentoring Programme.

Objectives of the Mentoring Programme:
1. To give students and alumni the chance to discuss career-related issues with alumni mentors who have significant experience in a particular field and are willing to share information and knowledge that may be useful for the professional development of the mentoree.
2. To enhance the relational capital of the alumni and the sense of belonging within our organisation.
Agents involved in the Mentoring Programme
- Mentor: any alumnus who is willing to give free help and feels that he/she has enough relevant professional experience to be able to provide information that will be useful for the professional future of other people.
- Mentoree: any Alumni member or current student may become a mentoree, provided that our group of volunteer mentors includes a person with the background requested by the mentoree candidate.
- Career Services in Barcelona and Madrid: this office coordinates the programme. It processes mentor and mentoree applications and has the authority to withdraw the service if the rules are not followed.
If you are interested in providing free help to other students and alumni, you feel that you have significant experience and are able to pass it on, and you want to help develop the potential of the alumni community, then become a mentor. Just fill out the APPLICATION.
Your mentoring agreement with ESADE will be based on a verbal commitment. You will not be asked to sign a contract and will be free to quit whenever you wish.

Rules and procedures for mentors
1. Fill out the APPLICATION to be included in the mentor database.
2. If a mentor with your experience has been requested, Career Services will send you information on the mentoree before he/she contacts you.
3. Each mentoree will be assigned to a mentor for three months. He/she may only meet with you (in person or by phone) three times during this period, unless you authorise further visits.
4. You must respond to your mentoree's requests in less than two weeks.
5. If, for any reason, you wish to end your relationship with your mentoree or quit the programme, just contact ESADE's Career Services.
