Giving-back Consultancy: Transformative volunteering

Our purpose at Esade Alumni is to promote Esade alumni’s active participation in building a fairer society and a more sustainable work through their professions. To do so, we offer and promote opportunities for our alumni to contribute to society.

Among other initiatives, we offer pro-bono consulting on management to strengthen third-sector organizations through the Giving-back Consultants program with the support of the “la Caixa” Foundation. Esade Alumni’s Giving-back Consultants program is a growing community: every new academic year, we add more volunteers, we expand our network of beneficiary organizations all over the world, and we explore new ways of generating a positive impact. In  this last edition, we developed 24 projects in the province of Barcelona, 5 in Madrid, and 11 in the rest of Spain (specifically in Lleida, Andalusia, Valencia, the Basque Country, Tarragona, Andorra, Galicia, and Girona). Internationally, we have partnered with the OLI Foundation in Peru, the Bombay to Barcelona Library Café in India, Lighthouse Relief in Greece, Global Organic Textile Standard in Germany, and Imizizi in South Africa. The consultancies have analyzed such diverse factors as internal processes, communication and marketing, business development, financing models, and strategic plans.

In addition to the Giving-back Consultants initiative, we also provide consulting to support the generation of the productive economy in developing countries with the Together project, and we offer different alternative volunteerism formulas like our Solidarity Hackathons, our Buddy Program, and Designing Opportunities (formerly Social Solver). At the same time, we foster reflection and debate on social and environmental matters with film forums and awareness-raising events; we provide knowledge and sustainability with projects like the DoGood app; and for two years now we have also committed to creating awareness of diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace with our Moving Stories workshop.
