The Controller and e-Business with David Bertomeu and David López

ESADE Alumni is pleased to invite you to this continuity programme talk, ''The Controller and e-Business'' with David Bertomeu, co-director of the ESADE program in Advanced Management Control, and David López, PhD in Digital Strategy and academic assistant in the department of general management and strategy at the ESADE Business & Law School.

Controllers face two challenges in this new digital era. First, they must familiarise themselves with the impact of this new paradigm on different areas of the company, and secondly, provide executives with suitable metrics to manage this new business approach.

In addition, the exponential growth of investment and turnover in these channels is a source of frustration for business controllers due to a lack of knowledge and, perhaps worse, the inability to provide the support expected of them.

The speakers will explain the crucial points that controllers must know about e-business and also the metrics and indicators of most importance for these new processes and magnitudes.

 

David Bertomeu

David Bertomeu is a co-director of the ESADE Advanced Management Control Program. Bachelor’s degree in business science and master in financial auditing. Since 1987 he has worked constantly in multinationals and private equity. His career began at Deloitte and subsequently developed in several companies in the Sara Lee group and subsidiaries of Sun Capital Partners, Inc. He has considerable experience as a finance director in different industries, and as a commercial director in charge of sales, marketing and logistics. He currently combines his work as a consultant at Expense Reduction Analysts with working as a teacher and co-director of Executive Education programs at ESADE.

 

 

David López

David López is a founding partner and director of Fhios Smart Knowledge (160+ people in three countries) and an academic assistant in the department of general management and strategy at the ESADE Business & Law School. PhD in digital strategy. Expert in the creation, launch and optimization of digital businesses: e-commerce, m-commerce, on-line and mobile marketing, Smart TV and social networking. Obsessed with digital analytics: ‘Without data, your decision is just an opinion!’ Great fan of BlockChain omni-channel, wearable technology, the Internet of Things (IoT) and Big Data. Investor and advisor of several digital start-ups. Mentor and coach in the ESADE Accelerator. Former board member of Club Marketing Barcelona, member of Digital Marketing, vice-president of the Catalonia association of telecom engineers, and vice-president of the Project Management Institute (PMI) Barcelona Chapter.
