Equal opportunities, promoting feminine leadership

Conferencia | Spanish

October 24 OF 2017 from 07:30 PM to 09:00 PM

ESADE Alumni is pleased to invite you to this conference entitled ''Oportunidades iguales, promoviendo el liderazgo feminino'' (Equal opportunities, promoting feminine leadership).

The World Economic Forum indicates that Spain is 169 years away from achieving gender parity, while a study by the International Labour Organisation argues that worldwide GDP would increase to 12 trillion dollars by 2025 if individual countries were to match the parity found in their most advanced neighbouring country.

In her book, ''Oportunidades iguales, promoviendo el liderazgo feminino'' (Equal opportunities, promoting feminine leadership), Mirian Izquierdo invites us to discover the reasons behind the existing gender gap, providing data from numerous studies; she also presents possible solutions and analyses the lessons we can learn from other countries around us to promote feminine leadership in top decision-making positions both on boards of directors and steering committees. Every society needs to count on all its talent to improve its competitiveness and ensure its sustainability. Counting on 100% of the population’s talent and including it in maximum decision-making processes implies taking into account the opinions of more than 80% of purchasing power in many industries.
