At this point in time, almost everyone has heard of La Fageda, the remarkable social enterprise established by Cristóbal Colón and Carme Jordà more than 30 years ago. La Fageda has enabled a group of different people from the county of La Garrotxa to feel fulfilled thanks to having a job that enables them to make a living, be independent, have hobbies, get married, etc.
This interesting documentary by David Baksh and Anna Thomson offers a different angle. The documentary sums up the founders’ determined efforts to create the enterprise of their dreams. A dramatic insight into the treatment of severely handicapped people that consists of integrating the patients’ very peculiar idiosyncrasies into a successful business.
During the ensuing discussion, we will be fortunate enough to be accompanied by the two directors of the documentary, David Baksh and Anna Thomson, the co-founder of La Fageda, Carme Jordà and director of the healthcare part, the director of marketing at La Fageda, Albert Riera, and the first-rate moderator, Montse Armengou, director of TV3’s Sense Ficció.
