Spanish

April 11 OF 2018 from 09:00 AM to 11:00 AM

In 2017, Spain’s tourist industry had a record year in terms of hotel investment and numbers of tourists. Family firms account for 57.1% of Spain’s GNP and 67% of its private-sector employment, i.e. about 6.58 million jobs. The pattern in the tourist industry is similar and many hotel firms are run by family firms, some in their fourth generation.

The forthcoming event being held by the ESADE Alumni Family Business Club and the ESADE Alumni Tourism Management Club will consist of a panel discussion featuring leading figures from foremost family firm hotels in their respective segments who will share their opinions of industry developments, the challenges they face and how their approach to family business shapes their competitive strategy.
Areas of discussion will include: the challenges posed by generational change and talent management, growth strategy, approach to innovation, response to the upsurge in disruptive business models, etc.
