Esade Live Experience: The community in Madrid meets at the new campus for the 14th Annual Meeting

On May 8 of this year, the Esade community participated in an unforgettable gathering at the 14th Alumni Annual Meeting in a very special venue: the new Esade campus in Madrid.

With the title of Esade Live Experience, the event attracted more than 300 alumni and students in a unique evening brimming with inspiration, connection, and learning.

An event that reflects the Esade spirit

The Esade Live Experience was much more than a networking event: it was an immersive experience which showcased the values of the new Madrid campus – educational innovation, connection and collaboration, sustainability, and commitment to a social impact – all of them values shared by the Esade Alumni community.

Participants had the chance to discover and enjoy the campus’s new facilities through a gamified tour that led them around its main spaces. The activity invited them to participate in different activities, like interacting with SofIA – the artificial intelligent hologram that reports on Esade’s educational programs, take a fun picture in a photobooth with AI, visit the Immersive Room for a relaxing experience, try virtual reality glasses designed to train soft skills, participate in a magic show, or share a refreshing mocktail with other participants, along with other activities.

A unique experience to connect and keep learning

The meeting combined spaces for interaction with contents boasting a high academic value. The program included inspiring sessions by Esade professors held simultaneously in different parts of the campus:

Carles Torrecilla, professor in the Marketing Department, presented “Si vis pacem para bellum”, a session that encouraged participants to prepare organizations for the quick changes that are coming. He explained how artificial intelligence and new economic, marketing, operational, and finance models are transforming the environment, and he offered a strategic reflection on how to lead the future without becoming a “plaything” of the changes (See here)

Joaquín Cava, associate professor in the Strategy and General Management Department, discussed “The challenges of strategic reinvention of the business model.” He outlined the factors that block innovation in traditional organizations and discussed how to organize companies so they can handle disruptors and take advantage of opportunities to reinvent the business model. A new milestone for the community in Madrid

The 14th Annual Meeting was also an opportunity to celebrate the growth and consolidation of Esade Alumni in Madrid. The new campus symbolizes a new stage for the school in the capital of Spain, and the Esade Live Experience was the best way to usher it in: with energy, talent, and community.

The celebration concluded with a social cocktail where all the participants were able to exchange experiences and continue to broaden their network of contacts in a relaxed, vibrant environment enlivened by a DJ and unique food. It was the perfect finishing touch for an evening that reaffirmed the value of staying connected to the school and belonging to a global, connected, and committed community.

We would like to thank CaixaBank, the sponsor of the Annual Meeting, and Lindt, which gave the event a sweet touch.
