Ferrer&Ojeda joins the Esade Alumni Family Business Club as a new sponsor

The Esade Alumni Family Business Club has announced an important partnership agreement with Ferrer&Ojeda, a touchstone in insurance consulting and management, which has become its new sponsor.

This sponsorship sprang from a profound connection between both organizations, since Ferrer&Ojeda is itself a family company which is celebrating its 125th anniversary this year, and many of its professionals are Esade alumni.

Albert Ferrer, executive director of Ferrer&Ojeda, highlights the alignment of values and purpose: “We are a fourth- and fifth-generation family company, and we are passionate about family companies and business families. We see a perfect alignment of values and purpose, and since many of our professionals are members of Esade alumni families, we were particularly excited about this opportunity to team up.”

Ferrer&Ojeda’s main mission is to help family companies understand their risks and design insurance solutions and programs that fit their needs. They work with customers of all sizes, from SME’s to large multinationals. 

 

Focus on continuity and legacy

Albert Ferrer stresses the value of family companies as engines of growth: “We want to add our own grain of sand to help and participate in preserving the legacy of the family company as an institution.” He also identified the main challenges facing family companies: preserve company culture as a competitive advantage, the ability to match short-term projects with a long-term approach, as well as the challenge continuity and succession.

This strategic partnership will allow the Esade Alumni Family Business Club to ramp up its initiatives targeted at this group by offering Ferrer&Ojeda vision and expertise, a brokerage firm that knows family businesses closely and shares the same challenges, risks, and projects... which is so crucial in ensuring the longevity and successful succession of Spanish family companies.

Ferrer cited two keys to successfully rise to these challenges: “insisting on the utmost business professionalism in decision-making processes, and generosity between the family and the company on the part of the owners, along with a future and legacy vision.”
