This talk in the ESADE Alumni Refresher Programme series is brought to you by Jaime Castelló (EMBA 03 / Retail Marketing 05), director of the Executive Master in Marketing and Sales at ESADE Madrid.

The year 2017 was a watershed in the closure of high-street shops (more than 5,000 in the US and more than 500 in Spain), including the disappearance or bankruptcy of such famous chains as Toys'R'Us and Radioshack, giants of the retail trade until a few years ago. Is this the end of the high-street store or is the tide turning? What will the retail landscape look like in 2020? This talk / master class will examine this phenomenon and provide invaluable guidelines for survival in these times of change. Jaime Castelló

Jaime Castelló holds a degree in economics and business administration (University of Valencia) and an MBA (ESADE). Currently associate professor in the department of marketing management at ESADE, where he is also in charge of the sales management area, and associate director of the Executive MBA at ESADE Madrid. Jaime ran ESADE’s Executive Master in Marketing Management for four years, and is actively involved in the academic coordination of the events that ESADE holds in Madrid. Before joining ESADE in October 2005, he worked in the commercial arena of FMCG companies in Spain and other places in Europe.
