The automation paradox. Self-driving cars as opportunities and threats

English

The ESADE Alumni South Korea Chapter would like to invite you to this talk entitled ''The automation paradox. Self-driving cars as opportunities and threats'', by Professor Dean Jonathan Wareham on October 26th at 7pm, in Seoul.

The world of automated automobiles, the Internet of Things and smart devices is entering our lives. Whilst these new technologies provide marvellous convenience and services, their vast ability to gather highly personal and biometric data enables such invasive product marketing that our concept of human free will be radically changed. Although on the one hand increased automation means greater efficiency, it also threatens to dumb down professions.

This presentation will take a provocative look at the hyper-connected world of automated devices and share both positive and cautionary perspectives about what it means for us as consumers, entrepreneurs and managers (MBAs).
