'Design Thinking' by Professor Ivanka Visnjic

English

The ESADE Alumni California Chapter, the Los Angeles hub to be precise, would like to invite you to their first event of thee 2016-17 academic year: an interactive workshop on Design Thinking run by Ivanka Visnjic, assistant professor in ESADE’s Department of Operations, Innovation and Data Sciences. Contracted Doctoral Professor.

The corporate world is no longer characterized by stable and predictable problems that lend themselves easily to analysis and long range planning. Managers need a new set of skills to deal with a rapidly changing environment that requires them to identify and tackle new problems or new ways of solving existing ones, i.e. to innovate.

The purpose of this workshop is to enable participants to learn what innovation really is and how it is used to develop new products, services and business models, or simply for day-to-day innovation. We’ll use the experiential learning approach based on the most recent techniques and frameworks: design thinking. In the words of Indra Nooyi, PepsiCo CEO, ''Design has a voice in nearly every important decision that the company makes.''

The chapter will provide complimentary drinks and refreshments immediately after the discussion at a nearby bar.
