ESADE Alumni is pleased to invite you to the refresher programme talk ''Digital Operations 4.0: The Impact of New Technologies on Business Models'', by Jaume Hugas (MBA 88), associate professor in the ESADE department of operations, innovation and data sciences.

Professor Hugas will examine the main impacts of new technologies in Industry 4.0, Artificial Intelligence, Blockchain and E-commerce, on new models of operational business.

This refresher programme session aims to enable participants to prioritize the three technologies with the greatest impact on their companies, whilst bearing in mind that today’s disruptive innovations spring from new types of management that combine different technologies with digital talent.

This is a Student First refresher programme. The literature provided must be read before the talk.

Jaume Hugas

Director of the business logistics research centre CILE. Prior to being the executive director of Executive Education, he was the director of ESADE MBA programmes.

Certified CPCL (Harvard Business School) and has also taken post-grad courses at Stanford, Darden and Olin Business School.

During his extensive career, he has been the director of supply chain management in the consumer division of Ralston Purina Europe in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and the director of manufacturing operations at Ralston Purina International responsible for 32 factories in Europe, in addition to corporate director of manufacturing and engineering at the Ralston Purina Company for Canada, Asia-Pacific and Latin America. Prior to this he was the production and engineering director at Gallina Blanca Purina in Spain and Portugal, and also the projects and works director at the firm Master SA de Ingeniería y Consultoría.

He has published several articles in different journals and written many case studies.

Hugas has been teaching at ESADE since 1990.
