Esade Alumni tour of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center

This session has been postponed. We will inform the new date soon.

Esade Alumni Entrepreneurship is organizing a tour of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, the national supercomputing center in Spain. They are specialized in high performance computing (HPC) and manage the MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, located in the chapel of the Torre Girona.

The visit, guided by BSC personnel, lasts between 30 and 60 minutes and consists of the reproduction of a video presentation of the center and the supercomputer, followed by a tour of the facilities.

Since its creation in 2005, the BSC-CNS has developed an active role in promoting HPC in Spain and Europe as an essential tool for international competitiveness in science and engineering. With a total team of more than 650 experts and professionals in R&D, the BSC is a center that attracts talent. His research focuses on four fields: Computational Sciences, Life Sciences, Earth Sciences and Computational Applications in Science and Engineering.

Most of the research lines of the BSC-CNS are developed within the framework of the research funding programs of the European Union. The center also conducts basic and applied research in collaboration with leading companies such as IBM, Microsoft, Intel, Nvidia, Repsol and Iberdrola.
