The financial sector is in the throes of a radical transformation. Traditional banks are being challenged by new players armed with a combination of more customer-centric business models and technology. These new competitors include fintechs, companies that are rethinking financial services and revolutionizing the sector. How are banks dealing with this fintech revolution? What are the pros and cons of fintechs in comparison with traditional banks? What lies ahead? Competition or collaboration between fintechs and the traditional financial sector?

ESADE Alumni is pleased to invite you to this on-line session in the Refresher Programme by Eloi Noya (Lic&MBA 93/EMDB 12), academic assistant in the ESADE department of operations, innovation and data science.

Eloi Noya is an academic assistant in the ESADE department of operations, innovation and data science, teaching Capital Markets & Fintech, and Business Development Projects in the Executive Master in Digital Business, and also Digital Banking in the MBA. He is the academic director of the ESADE on-line Fintech & Blockchain programme. He is a project mentor in several ESADE programmes.
Bachelor’s degree in business administration (ESADE Business School, Universitat Ramon Llull) and in law (Universitat Oberta de Catalunya). Master in international management (McGill University, Montreal), and Executive Master in Digital Business (ESADE). Has taken several courses in management and leadership at establishments including Instituto de Empresa and Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Certified EFA (financial advisor) and CEFA (financial analyst).
Eloi has spent most of his career in the financial sector in management positions in Banco Pastor, Caixa Catalunya and Catalunya Banc in the areas of risks, business, international and marketing. In 2013, he co-founded and ran LoanBook, a leading fintech company in Spain in corporate loan investment. In 2018 he was appointed director of institutional relations in the financial consultancy Altria Corpo & Invest Services. Has been a consultant to several companies in the start-up and growth phases and has published several articles about fintechs and innovation in banking in such journals as the Harvard Deusto Business Review and the Observatorio de Divulgación Financiera issued by the Instituto de Estudios Financieros. Regular speaker at finance and technology forums.
