The ESADE Alumni Tarragona Club is pleased to invite you to 'Impact of the tourist industry on the global, Spanish, Catalan and Costa Daurada economies in 2018 and the outlook for 2019', a talk by Albert Pascual.

Overview of the main indicators of the tourism industry with regard to its impact on the economies of the world, Spain and Catalonia, followed by an analysis of its impact on the Costa Daurada tourist brand. We will also consider the main structural and seasonal factors of economic growth in Spain in recent years and how the impact of the latter on GDP growth has fallen.

We will also analyse the importance of the competitiveness of the Spanish tourism industry and its contribution to both tourist-driven spending in the non-tourist industries and its impact on job creation.
We will focus particularly on the paradigm shift from volume to profitability / overview of tourism in Catalonia in 2018 and we will analyse the evolution of tourist arrivals versus spending.

Finally, we will explain different examples of how big data can help define strategies for both the entity and companies in the sector.

We will have the presence of several members of the AEHT (Association of Hospitality Companies of Tarragona), among which will be Francesc Pintado, president of the association who will moderate the session.
