'Latest developments in management control. The Personal Controller. A case study' by David Bertomeu

Programa de continuidad | Spanish

ESADE Alumni invites you to this session in the Refresher Programme ''Latest developments in management control. The Personal Controller. A case study'' by David Bertomeu, academic assistant in the Department of Economics, Finance and Accounting and director of the Advanced Management Control Programme at ESADE.

Controlling is a new profession in companies which continues to develop and make inroads. The latest trends show controllers shifting away from their traditional role of policing deviations towards close contact with the decisions needed to fulfil and exceed goals. Their relationship with budgets has changed from keeping track of what has happened, to what needs to happen.

The speaker will explain the characteristics and background of the personal controller and we will also hear from José Cuenca, controller at the company Blanco Aldomar, participant in ESADE’s 2014 Advanced Management Control Program, and an example of a successful transformation into personal controller. During the session, José will talk about his experience and the instruments he used to facilitate his transformation.
