Mindfulness for brain training

Sesión Flash | Spanish

March 12 OF 2015 from 07:00 PM to 09:00 PM

The ESADE Alumni Career Service invites you to this flash session, your opportunity to learn how to cultivate a healthy mind able to focus on and connect better with others in order to experience less stress and more harmony at work. We will also be taking a look at the importance of training the mind by Mindfulness meditation exercises scientifically proven to have an impact on the brain and behaviour. This training is already being used in some innovative companies, such as Google, that include Mindfulness in their personal skill training programs.

We will consider some of the discoveries of modern neuroscience about brain training for improving attention and concentration, and achieving harmony between people and personal wellbeing. We will examine the findings of research into training with Mindfulness MBSR and similar techniques, and their applications in the realms of leadership and management.

We will experiment with the type of attention known as Mindfulness in an enjoyable and hands-on manner with simple exercises that can be used at work and in the home to develop an awareness than improves the ability to be present. We will see the effect of certain positive emotions upon human relations, and their impact on decision making and the ability to facilitate truly ethical behaviour.

The session will be led by Andrés Martín Asuero, BSc, MBA and PhD in Psychology, founder of the Instituto Esmindfulness, Spain’s leading Mindfulness organisation. http://www.esmindfulness.com. Ex-executive who introduced the MBSR program into Spain, facilitator in leadership and stress reduction processes in companies and hospitals.
