Moonshot Thinking & Corporate Innovation

Conferencia | Spanish

October 28 OF 2019 from 07:30 PM to 09:00 PM

The ESADE Alumni BIT Club is pleased to invite you to their forthcoming talk “Moonshot Thinking and Corporate Innovation”, on October 28 at ESADE Madrid.

We live in one of the most fast-paced times in history. Some people talk about VUCA (Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, Ambiguity) and TUNA (Turbulent, Uncertain, Novel, Ambiguous) contexts; some talk about the 4th Industrial Revolution which not only changes our environment and how we do things, but also changes us; and others talk about Post-Normal times, i.e. a transition towards a new normal that spans not only technological revolutions, but also organizational, social and cultural revolutions.

There can be no doubt that the changes to our lives are radical, exponential, deep and unstoppable, so we can only adapt and learn to deal with them. What we used to define as the “future” is increasingly quick to arrive, and linear, short-term ways of thinking have become obsolete. Against this backdrop, the ability to anticipate and imagine the future is becoming a key skill for executives, managers, entrepreneurs and almost any professional. How can we change the way we think? What methods and techniques can we use?

Futures Studies is a discipline that aims to increase the ability of individuals, organizations and society in general to forecast. It spans several work frameworks such as Strategic Foresight, Moonshot Thinking and Futures Design, each of which has a specific set of concrete techniques to help us think about the future, make it visible, tangible and experiential, and then create strategies to achieve them.
