The Port of Tarragona 2020-2025. Future regional projects

To give you a more business-oriented view of the city’s port and future projects, the Regional Club of Tarragona warmly invites you to the conference hall of the Port Authorities of Tarragona on 23rd January at 19:00.

This talk by Josep M. Cruset, the current president of the Tarragona Port Authorities, will provide an overview of the industrial and tourist activities of the Port of Tarragona, its business figures, new projects and, above all, the value and importance of a port of these characteristics for its surrounding region.

The Port of Tarragona is currently one of the most important maritime ports on the Mediterranean coast. Its three main activities are shipping, fishing and sports. 

 

Josep Maria Cruset Domènech

Josep graduated with a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the School of Chemical Engineering at the Universidad Rovira i Virgili where he is now a member of the advisory board. He went on to earn an MBA at the Universidad Rovira i Virgili. He specialised in process and quality management, and is a quality officer in the provincial council of Tarragona, currently on leave of absence. He also works in his family’s agriculture and poultry farming firm.

From 2003 to 2007 he was a city councillor, and from 2007 to 2009 a councillor of the Baix Camp area. Since 2009 he has been a member of the Tarragona county council and since 2011, vice president and head of the municipal support service. He was a member of the valuation committee of the Unified Works and Services Scheme of Catalonia in 2013-2016 and a member of the group for promoting the university chair and the knowledge area of the Universidad Rovira i Virgili. He is currently the president of the Port Authorities of Tarragona, appointed by the land and sustainability minister of the Generalitat of Catalonia.
