The United Kingdom’s departure from the European Union has been in the throes of great uncertainty since it was triggered by the referendum of June 2016. If negotiations are extended, a new Brexit agreement and a second referendum are both possible.

During this debate, two experts in European regulations will examine the economic, political and business implications of an increasingly volatile Brexit.

Salomé Santos is a lawyer specialised in European law and competition law. She worked for 13 years as an external lawyer in the Martínez Lage & Asociados law firm and subsequently in the Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer law firm where she was an advisor for Spanish firms and multinationals. In 2010 she joined the British multinational Associated British Foods (ABF) as an advisor in charge of the Continental Europe area dealing with strategy and global advice for the companies in the group. Former board secretary of Primark Tiendas and AB Mauri Foods. She is now a member of the management committee of AB Azucarera Iberia and also the director of the agricultural area in this company. She has a varied academic career.
