Tour of the CaixaForum exhibit “Opera: Passion, Power and Politics”

The Esade Alumni Senior Club is organising a tour of the exhibit “Opera: Passion, Power and Politics”.

CaixaForum Barcelona presents an thrilling, immersive experience that highlights the role of opera as the soundtrack to European history.

Eight cities. Eight composers. Eight grand premieres. From the Venice of Claudio Monteverdi to the Leningrad of Dmitri Shostakovich, with stops in London with Georg Friedrich Händel, in Vienna with Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in Milan with Giuseppe Verdi, in Paris with Richard Wagner, in Barcelona with Isaac Albéniz, and in Dresden with Richard Strauss.

Visitors experience this immersive exhibit individually. A CaixaForum educator will meet us at the entrance and give us a 15-minute introduction to the exhibit. Each participant will then be given a set of wireless headphones that activate as we proceed through the museum.
