Rosa Clará and Enagás received the Esade Alumni Women Forward Awards at the fourth Annual Meeting of the Women Empowerment Club (WE) held at Esade Fórum. Every year, these awards celebrate people and organizations that have made an important contribution to promoting equal opportunities and the presence of female talent in the business and professional worlds.

The Esade Alumni Women Empowerment Club promotes encounters between professionals interested in promoting more diverse, balanced, and inclusive workplaces. With this fourth edition of its annual meeting, the club wanted to once again showcase female leadership and shed light on business initiatives that are capable of generating real changes in gender equity.

Recognition Rosa Clará's career

In the Career category, the jury recognized Rosa Clará for having turned her company into an international benchmark in wedding fashion, highlighting her entrepreneurial ability, business vision, and decades-long international expansion process.

During her speech, Clará particularly addressed the younger generations of professionals and entrepreneurs, whom she encouraged to rise to the challenges with determination. “You have to go out and conquer them with courage, passion and especially a great deal of strength,” she said about professional and business opportunities.

Enagás, benchmark in equality in the energy sector

The award for Business Contribution to Gender Parity went to Enagás in recognition of the policies the company has developed to foster diversity and equal opportunities in a historically masculinized sector.

The jury particularly valued the presence of women in the company’s governing bodies and executive positions, as well as the advances it has made in areas like equal pay, work-life balance, and the development of female talent. The award was collected by the company’s president, Antonio Llardén, who underscored that “we companies have the responsibility to create environments in which everyone can fully develop their talent, without either barriers or limitations.” He also claimed that “the energy transition will only be truly fair if it comes with higher diversity and real equal opportunities.”

Connecting science, philanthropy and impact

The main talk at the workshop was by Glòria Oliver (Promociona 14), deputy general manager at the Fundación Pasqual Maragall. It was entitled The Drivers of Change: Leadership that Connects Science, Philanthropy, and Impact. Her talk reflected on the role of female leadership in facing the major social challenges, with a focus on research into Alzheimer and the need to build alliances between science, institutions, companies, and citizens.

Oliver claimed that the most complex challenges cannot be addressed individually. “Alzheimer is too complex for solitary leaders,” she said, instead advocating a leadership model capable of connecting talent, knowledge, and resources to generate sustainable transformations and improve people’s lives.

Based on the experience of the Fundación Pasqual Maragall, Oliver highlighted the importance of preserving the autonomy and dignity of people affected by neurodegenerative diseases and reminded the audience that real impact requires trust, collaboration, and long-term commitments. She also defended the role of women as drivers of change through research, philanthropy, and enterprise.

The executive also warned that women still shoulder most of the caregiving tasks and defended the need to work towards real co-responsibility. “The future we want is one in which we can anticipate illnesses and caring does not force anyone to give up their own life.”

Other participants in the annual meeting were Eugenia Bieto (Lic&MBA 73 & PhD 08), president of the Esade Alumni Women Empowerment Club and former general manager of Esade, and Patricia Valentí (MBA 02 / PMD 17), director of Esade Alumni. The meeting once again brought together members of the alumni community and professionals committed to promoting diversity and equal opportunities in organizations, making it a benchmark in the debate and exchange of experiences on leadership and inclusion
