Cycle 'Wellness'. Session: Emotional brain and health

Sesión Flash | Spanish

May 08 OF 2017 from 07:00 PM to 09:00 PM

Emotions guide our behaviour in general, and particularly how we cope at work. They play a crucial part in decision-making, group management and leadership. They all originate in the brain, in the network of nerves that spring into action in certain situations.

The ESADE Alumni Career Services invites you to this flash session designed to explain the basics of the neuroscience of emotions including fear, sadness, anger and joy, and also the ability to empathize with others.

The session will be given by Luis Moya Albiol,  associate profesor (accredited as full professor) in the Department of Psychobiology at Valencia University. He gained his PhD in psychology and an extraordinary doctorate award at this university. He teaches psychology and criminology and is the director of the first Master in Neurocriminology. He is the head of a social neuroscience research team which focuses on social stress and violence, and also cooperation, neurohappiness and empathy. He has published more than 100 articles in scientific journals, directed various research projects and doctoral theses, and is the author of the university textbook Neurocriminología (Pyramid, 2015) and the popular science books La empatía, entenderla para entender a los demás; Escucha tu cerebro: la clave de la Neurofelicidad and La empatía en la empresa (Plataforma, 2014, 2015 and 2016, respectively).  He is also well known for his contribution to the dissemination of science on television and in the radio, scientific journals and the press.
