Health tourism in Spain

Spanish

December 01 OF 2016 from 07:00 PM to 08:30 PM

The ESADE Alumni Health & Pharma Club invites you to another interesting talk in Madrid, ''Health tourism in Spain''. The turnover and volume of health tourism in Spain is currently growing by 20% a year, with more and more foreign patients coming to Spain for healthcare.

Patients from Russia and Arab countries with high purchasing power choose Spain because the necessary treatments are not available in their countries of origin. In addition, European citizens choose Spain for more specific treatments because its health system is one of the best in the world, offering first-rate services but at far lower prices.

In addition to prices, Spain’s good weather is a big plus for post-op treatments. Spain is also well located and easy to access thanks to a wealth of airports. All these factors combine to guarantee a bright future for this industry.

The health tourism market has many large segments: certified hospitals and health centres, spas, facilitators, medical insurers, health tourism destinations, specialised travel agencies and tour operators, certified associated service companies, health cluster companies, associations and publications.

Three speakers will share their views and experience, and discuss the latest trends in healthcare tourism, an industry with a massive economic impact.
